HOSTING INTEGRATION

Connecting Blesta with Virtualmin hosting management

A personal PHP module connecting service lifecycle methods with a separate Virtualmin API wrapper.

Concept diagram connecting a client portal to hosting infrastructure

The problem

Client-service administration and hosting operations use different systems and need a clear integration boundary.

The approach

The module contains Blesta lifecycle methods that call Virtualmin through a separate API wrapper.

What is available

Public source can be inspected to understand the integration. The README identifies beta status; no production compatibility or customer outcome is claimed.

Keeping the integration boundary visible

The main PHP module translates service actions into calls to a separate VirtualMinApi class. Host, port and connection settings are supplied when that wrapper is constructed. This provides a concrete example of connecting a client-management platform with infrastructure operations.

In the reviewed source, addService validates service input before constructing a domain-creation request when provisioning is enabled. Suspension and reactivation methods call the corresponding domain operations. The response parser contains handling for unsuccessful API responses.

Lifecycle decisions matter

The cancellation method calls suspension rather than deletion, with a TODO noting a possible future deletion option. The edit method is a stub returning null. Those details are useful when assessing an integration: a familiar method name does not prove every lifecycle action is complete or that its behaviour matches a business’s policy.

Scope and limitations

The repository README labels the module beta and warns about incomplete work. The source is shown as a personal engineering reference, not as a currently supported NZHost product or an assurance about security. Version compatibility, permissions, credential handling, logging and live behaviour require a separate review before any use.

The concept illustration is not a customer screenshot. No hosting-account details or private client data are published, and the code was not executed against any hosting system during this review.

Inspect the module at the reviewed revision, its API wrapper and beta-status README.
